Sorry I haven't put this up in awhile I plan to make it up today... Commodore John Paul Jones, depicted here as a "painted" or spotted Jaguar, His presence here is, in a purely literal sense, a historical innacuracy. I fear this will be expained, much later in the series. My only hint I can give is things are not always what they seem.

this is an OLD OLD OLD sketch of and old old character named Aieshah, shes apart of a cat-like elven race called Katalians, that have the ability to transform into monsterous were-beasts. ..... when they were created I was 15 at the time... as if that explains anything.

The man who served as inspiration for The badger, Colonel Casey, made me re-do the hand positioning on the first panel three times before it got the green light. Why? Because british marine salutes are different from american ones, the palms face out instead of downward. The position made it rather difficult for me to draw given Casey's very long claws which make up most of his fingers. still very fun to draw however, his claws seem to be convienently maleable at times though, mistake on my part I think but it works well regaurdles... Funny really that I could spend so much time on the first panel hand position... and then totally screw up the flintlocks in panels 2 and 3.... guns will never be my forte.... We get a look at how inanely strict Casey is and will continue, in later issues we discover that theres a running joke behind the dear colonel's back that his men, (and some of the naval officers who know him) start calling him "Head-Case"

We finally meet Colonel Benjamin Casey.... A badger turned into a really appropo animal for him.... Fun, ironic fact: Casey is an American Badger, but his nationality is british, I thought the face shape better suited his real life counterpart.

Vyse gets a formal introduction at last, its handled better in the printed version I swear. i tried to portray how bold and debonair he was, this strip originally had no dialouge, I added it as an afterthought because it really did serve as a good transition between the introduction and Siman's regaling of Casey's... well... you'll see.

I rather liked how it's brought to light more fully that Fox is an American yet enlisted under the British forces, although I rather regret now that thought bubble that out-right tells the audience her real alliance. I was afraid the look on her face wouldn't be enough of a tell at the time. lessons learned...
